David Lawler – Paleontologist

The GREAT BASIN PALEO SERVICES firm offers a wide range of paleontological consulting services by providing a comprehensive analysis of paleo resources in project areas, and technical investigations ranging from reconnaissance and feasibility study phase through mitigation and clearance operations and into the final stage of project planning.

Mr. David Lawler - Paleontologist, possesses a M.S. degree in Paleontology from the University of California, Berkeley and +50 years of consulting experience in a broad range of energy related applications such as mining, transmission line, and pipeline right‑of‑way clearance projects.  Areas of professional expertise include vertebrate, invertebrate and paleobotanical resources of the western United States, as well as extensive experience in biostratigraphic and palynological analysis.

Paleontological consulting work primarily focused on environmental projects in the western U.S., particularly California, Nevada, Oregon, Arizona, Utah, Colorado, New Mexico, Montana and Wyoming and the Colorado Plateau region.  He has obtained federal Paleontological Collecting permits in nearly all western states to provide project-related activities in past years.

Prior consultant experience on various environmental projects has provided Mr. Lawler with a sound understanding of both industry and governmental concerns, culminating in production of high-quality environmental reports and related documents in a timely, cost‑effective manner.
